10 years of Water Linked
It’s hard to sum up the first, and past, ten years of Water Linked’s existence without mentioning the challenge that still, to this day drives, motivates and unites us on our mission.

It all started when our founder, Torgeir Trøite, questioned how underwater communication technology felt stuck and outdated: “Hang on, why does it [sensor components] have to be this big? Why can’t we just make it small and simple, and low power… Why can’t we just do that?”

Ten years down the road, we are obviously proud of what we have achieved together. However, that doesn’t mean we are settled. As we celebrate our 10 year anniversary, the past decade is already in our rear view mirror. Now we refocus on the really exciting projects we’ve got coming up (we never really took our eyes off them).

Thank you for joining us on our journey, hope you enjoy our anniversary film.

Subsea Mechatronics - inspection and cleaning procedures in flooded confined spaces
When Dario Sosa, founder and CEO of Subsea Mechatronics (SSM), got in touch about an exciting, new project, we were keen to hear more. The biggest challenge as they embarked on a new innovation was a visibility near zero, making regular video footage useless for documentation. Luis Sanchez, CTO of Subsea Mechatronics, stated “Deploying human divers to carry out these inspections would not only yield poor results; it would be a health and safety hazard.” Needless to say, we did not require much convincing to participate in this intriguing project.
